On the plus side, monitoring your Cervical Mucus (CM) is an easy way to boost your chances of conceiving. The method of tracking the consistency of CM has allowed for many couples that have struggled to conceive to become proud parents today. Early in the ovulation cycle, the CM secreted from the wall of the cervix is cloudy in appearance and has a thicker viscosity. However, the CM changes in appearance and resembles an egg white during ovulation.  It is a thinner or more watery viscosity and is almost completely transparent.

This shift from a thicker cloudy colour to a thinner transparency is the bodies natural reaction to making it easier for the sperm to reach the egg and fertilise it. As a process, you must now monitor the CM over several weeks or months to gain an understanding of how it changes during the menstrual cycle.
